About the Author
Cheryl R. Lane was born and raised in Tennessee and went to college at East Tennessee State University before marrying her high school sweetheart and moving to Virginia Beach, Virginia. She started writing as a hobby while in college after purchasing Southern Heritage cookbooks, which were filled with pages of old plantation homes. She wrote more after moving to Virginia Beach and visiting beautifully restored homes in Williamsburg as well as plantations on the James River. She has been working as a medical transcriptionist for over 20 years while writing on the side, and finally decided to self-publish her first book, "Wellington Cross", on Amazon through Kindle Direct Publishing as well as in print through CreateSpace. She has since published the second book in the Wellington Cross series, "Wellington Grove," and will release a novella, "A Wellington Christmas" in September 2014. She is still married to her sweetheart after 25 years and they have one son and a Havanese bichon.

Don't waste your money.

Really, truly, completely, utterly awful. Potentially intriguing plot, but that's where the good ends and the horrible begins. Zero character development. Reads like a 14-year old girl's text messages or Twitter posting. Lots of historical and factual inaccuracies. Repetitive language and over-reliance on euphemism (example: 'I began having adult feelings...' or 'I longed to have relations.') I'm also pretty sure people in Virginia at that time wouldn't have referred to a group of men as 'guys.' And male horses are either stallions, geldings, or colts, not 'male horses.' And you can't drive the type of carriage she describes from inside the passenger compartment. And on and on...
And the characters? Talk about arrested development. Don't waste your money.

A page turner!

I really loved this book! Could not put it down, just had to see what was going to happen! I stayed up late trying to finish it. I would definitely recommend this! Good plot, loveable characters, romance and mystery all wrapped up in one.

this is a very good book by a new author. The descriptions of the homes and the grounds were so vivid I could almost smell the flowers and hear the birds. I picked this book up and didn't put it down until I finished. I'm very excited that there are going to be more books in this series. I am looking foward to reading more from Cheryl R Lane.
