Best young adult thriller I've ever read

I've read only a few YA thrillers, so I don't have a lot of basis for comparison, but I thought The Girl Who Was Supposed to Die was the best YA thriller I've ever read. It was fast paced, full of action and suspense, and kept me guessing until the end.
The character development was great, especially Cady's strength. She is tough, and never gives up, and I love that in a character. I liked that Henry kept the reader in the dark as to Cady's story, and I got to figure things out right along with Cady. The twist at the end was totally unexpected, and added a lot of depth to the story.
The Girl Who Was Supposed to Die is an exciting read, and I liked everything about it. My only complaint is that I wish the book would have been longer--it was so good that I just wanted it to keep going. I would recommend this book to anyone and will most definitely read April Henry again!

Pre-read this book to see if my 6th grade granddaughter would like it. As a former middle school librarian I am accustomed to 'picky' readers. I handed it over after I finished and she read it quickly and loved it. The plot grabs you the first couple of pages and carries the reader on a journey to an almost great conclusion. There are quite a few twists and some very likeable characters as well as some that are not so likeable. This is a good book for 6th to maybe 10th graders who like a mystery suspense read that is not too long, yet holds your interest. She is now anxious to read more books by this same author. The rest of April Henry's books will be under the Christmas tree!

Great Suspense

Once I started, I couldn't put it down. First book in a while that I actually didn't know what would happen in the end. I like that it is clean, so I can recommend it to my grandmother, but still a great story.
