GRACE LIVINGSTON HILL (1865–1947) is known as the pioneer of Christian romance. Grace wrote over one hundred faith-inspired books during her lifetime. When her first husband died, leaving her with two daughters to raise, writing became a way to make a living, but she always recognized storytelling as a way to share her faith in God. She has touched countless lives through the years and continues to touch lives today. Her books feature moving stories, delightful characters, and love in its purest form. Grace Livingston Hill began writing stories in 1877 at the tender age of twelve and didn’t stop until her death in 1947. But what may be more amazing is that she has sold over 84 million copies and is still loved by young and old alike.

Timeless Truths

Another of Grace Livingston Hill's wonderful stories. If you have not read any of her books you should try this one! It is a bit different becasue her heroine is a business woman in an era when that was practically unheard of. Grace's quaint stories may be set in another generation but the truths & issues her characters experience are similar to questions & situations that are timeless!
This is entertaining & fun to read. I would urge anyone to try Grace's books. You'll find a new friend in this author. I've collected all her works in book form & am now replacing them on my Kindle. I re-read her books time & again because she never fails to lift up my spirits & give me a Good Read everytime. My Sister & daughter collect her books as well. Hope you try her out!

Best of GLH

I wish I could get this in kindle. Duskin is not in the usual cookie cutter cutout of most of GLH's books therefore it stands in a class almost all it's own. First since it is a GLH you can be assured of a squeaky clean read hard to find nowdays. Second unlike most of GLH's the MC's actually spend more than 5 min together. While doing her job she happens to overhear a conversation that makes her mistakenly believe that Duskin is allied with "the bad guys" so when she gets her chance to be in charge she determines to fire the bum and get a good foreman on the job. Meanwhile Duskin reevaluated his initial favorable impression of her when he overhears that she plans to fire him and considers her a silly girl who will be yet another burden on his already overladen shoulders. Of course he is not the villain she thinks he is nor she the burden. Third unlike most of GLH's the female character is a strong woman who can stand on her own feet (well strong for one of GLH girls anyways:) and get the job done. I have read many of GLH's books and this is my all time favorite I highly recommend this book for all who love GLH and all who don't know who she is. This book is a keeper.

A great Grace Livingston Hill book

Although one of the author's earlier books, Duskin's heroine is atypical of the author because she is a business woman. There is no "love at first sight." A fun read for anyone who enjoys Grace Livingston Hill books.
