RICHARD SELCER is the author of Hell’s Half-Acre: The Life and Legend of a Red-Light District and co-author of Legendary Watering Holes: The Saloons that Made Texas Famous. Fun Fort Worth History

Fun for Fort Worth or Texas residents. This book focuses on the people that didn't get their names on streets or buildings. The men/women who straddled the fence of good and bad. All are very interesting and give you insight to Fort Worth and the West in the 1800's. I'm love this book.

Excellent and entertaining

I love reading about Fort Worth history because I've lived in or near here all my 67 years. Richard Selcer presents characters from ole Cowtown very well. I was amazed to see a chapter written about my great grandmother, Mary Rea. My grandfather died when my dad was young so none of us knew much about his family. What I've learned has mostly been from Richard Selcer's writings. Met Mr Selcer at a function when he was speaking and got an autographed copy of Hell's Half Acre. That was before reading Ft Worth Characters.
