Very Informative and Helpful

I HAVE read this book and find it very informative and helpful. The author of this book does not side step the issue of surgery on hernias but gives the sufferer options for management. If one has a hernia they have 2 options provided the hernia is not strangulated: surgery or management with careful monitoring. If one chooses the latter, one has to watch and monitor the problem using diet and special exercises. If one chooses surgery, they still have to watch their diet and exercise as well as carefully monitoring the situation. Hernia surgery is not without its risks and still require the same treatment of careful watching as one would take if they had it without the surgery. For both cases, this book provides in depth information about hernias and how to manage them.
As for me, I have had an inguinal hernia for 6 years. I learned how to manage it through diet and exercise and I am doing fine without surgery. This book is important for understanding exactly what is happening down there and to aid in possibly reducing its size. Also important information to know in case you do decide to have surgery and potential danger signs. Thank you for writing this book.

Not a Good Book - Does Not Live Up To The Title

This book will not tell you how to 'defeat' your Inguinal Hernia. Or even cure it (same thing?). Or even mitigate it.
It offers no new technologies or understandings, gives no new directions.
The fundamental problem of Inguinal (perhaps all) hernias which is almost totally ignored is 'why' do the membranes in that area weaken?
It has been show that the tradtional 'severe work' or 'over exercise' or 'bad lifting technique' is not responsible.
But if you can find any information as to what is responsible then please let me know, because I couldn't.
And this book doesn't have it, either.
Depending upon how uninformed you were before you picked it up it's possible you'll be none the wiser at all but even if you do get informed to some extent you won't be informed to the extent to where you can cure ('defeat') an inguinal hernia.

Goodwill Book

I usually buy books from Goodwill if it's an option. (as I did this one) They've always been in good condition.
The information in the book itself was mostly a repeat of what's online but most books are these days.
