After the war, Kon Pierkarski was educated at London and Iowa State Universities. He obtained his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Biomechanical Engineering from Cambridge. In 1951, he immigrated to Canada and is now a semi-retired professor at the University of Waterloo.

Outstanding history of polish POW's

This book was as good as I hoped it would be. It's interesting to see a slightly different perspective on Auschwitz since most of the memoirs I've read of auschwitz were from Jewish prisoners. One part that really stuck out to me was when one of Kons colleagues was killed for standing up to the SS when the SS guard was mistreating a Jewish man.
The way the book is written is highly detailed and I really could almost visualize exactly what was taking place.
If you want another good book on auschwitz other camps, this is a very good ,action filled memoir... I'm sure you will like it!
